Facilities are deep cleaned following contact with a Confirmed Covid-19 employee or patient. To determine appropriate areas to be cleaned a Contact Trace needs to be conducted to determine parts of the facility to be cleaned. After a facility is closed it is normally ventilated for at least 24 hours prior to deep cleaning. Thorough cleaning may be required before high-level disinfection because inorganic and organic materials that remain on surfaces interfere with the efficacy of disinfectants. Removal of foreign material from objects is normally accomplished using water with detergents or enzymatic products. Fugitive dust may be removed by HEPA vacuuming.
