Combustible Dust Removal from Cyclone Room in Textile Manufacturing Facility
COMBUSTIBLE DUST REMOVAL AND HAZARD ANALYSIS
Remtech specializes in combustible dust cleanups and combustible dust hazard analysis and explosion prevention audits for manufacturing and facilities, aerospace components, chemicals, carpets, textiles, food, sugar, forestry and furniture products, processing wastewater, paper products, pharmaceuticals, and recycling operations (metal, paper, food products, synthetics, and plastics).
Remtech's professionals have decades experience in the removal of fine dust particulates that can accumulate and cause potential fire or explosion hazards. Remtech's specialized cleaning techniques ensure compliance with Insurance company requirements that require compliance with OSHA 's Directive #: CPL 03-00-008 Combustible Dust National Emphasis Program and NFPA 484, 654 Standard for the Prevention of Fire and Dust Explosions from the Manufacturing, Processing, and Handling of Combustible Particulate Solids.
NFPA 652, the National Fire Protection Association’s Standard on the Fundamentals of Combustible Dust. First issued in 2016 and updated for 2019, NFPA 652 sets the requirements used by OSHA and other authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) to determine if companies are doing what they need to do to keep their workers safe from combustible dust hazards. Under NFPA 652, all facilities with combustible dust hazards must have a Dust Hazard Analysis ("DHA") completed by a professional safety consultant by September 7, 2020.
Combustible dusts that provide fuel for fires or explosions are frequently organic or metal dusts that are finely ground into very small particles, fibers, fines, chips, chunks, flakes, or a small mixtures. Types of dusts include, metal dust, such as aluminum and magnesium; wood dust; plastic dust; biosolids; organic dust, such as sugar, paper, soap, and dried blood; and dusts from certain textiles. Combustible dust cleaning removes the fuel for fire and explosions. Remtech uses static controlled and grounded, and dust suppression systems to ensure that combustible dusts are removed safely.
